9 years in custody is the equivalent at an 18 year determinate sentence, just let that sink in an 18 year prison sentence for stealing a mobile phone.
Again we accept that a custodial sentence was needed but not this, 9 years later and still there and its not over, its a long way from over for Thomas, Clara and their family.
This is not a one off there are thousands of people just like Thomas and Clara trapped by this abolished sentence.
